What category means
Category refers to the range of contamination in the water. It takes account of two things: where the water originally came from, and its quality after it has contacted the materials on the job site.
Time and temperature can affect or hold back the amplification of contaminants, which means they can change the category.
Potential contamination
Undesired substances whose identity, location and quantity don’t reflect a normal indoor environment, and which can cause adverse health effects, damage the structure, systems or contents, or affect how building systems operate.
