Dry bulb, RH and dew point
Dry bulb temperature
The actual air temperature, measured with a dry-sensing bulb thermometer. Found at the bottom of the psychrometric chart, increasing from left to right. Measured in Celsius or Fahrenheit. Called the sensible temperature — the heat you can feel or measure.
Relative humidity (RH)
The amount of moisture in the air compared to how much it could hold at a specific temperature. Expressed as a percentage. Technically the ratio of actual water vapour pressure to saturation vapour pressure at that temperature and air pressure.
Dew point temperature
The temperature at which air becomes fully saturated at 100% RH. If air cools below this point, condensation forms, like droplets on a ceiling or window. This is the condensation point where vapour changes into liquid water.
