Wet floors and the right sole
Slip, trip and fall is one of the biggest risks on a water job. It has to be reduced as far as is reasonably practicable, and hazard signs go up wherever they’re needed.
Footwear
Slip-resistant footwear is essential PPE. The sole you need depends on the surface.
- Wet conditions. Tread deep enough to cut through surface water so the sole makes direct contact with the floor.
- Dry conditions. A flat-bottomed tread pattern for maximum grip and contact area.
